a little tid bit about me~ I’m a wife to my best friend and high school sweetheart, a mama to my two little sweet peas, and just a girl who loves Jesus, to write, dream, eat ice cream and pancakes for dinner, wear ballet flats, laugh everyday, spin in dresses, listen to the rain, sinking my feet into the sand, basking in really good music, and listen to my children's giggles. I love farmers markets and blueberry picking.

I love to look for some sort of simple happiness wherever I go, the simple and quiet, and going to auctions and antique shops.

While one of my favorite places in the whole wide world is my hubby's arms with my kids in between and of course Mackinac Island, I still dream of traveling the countryside of France looking for antique treasures, rolling down the hills of Ireland and sitting in an old villa in Italy telling stories with old friends, but until then, I’m happy right where I’m at.
I love shabby chic and vintage cottage charm and I love estate sales and antiquing, it’s like a mini vacation. I love to create buntings for yummy celebrations and passing along a vintage treasure or two.

All handmade items are made while pondering lovely thoughts and dreams, and I hope you love them as much as I do.

Hello! My name is Dawn. I was born and raised in a tiny Northern California hippy town, and moved to Austria 11 years ago to be with the man I love. This country, with it's four beautiful seasons and luscious fairytale-like nature, is what inspires my creations most. I get many of my new ideas while taking walks through the woods and fields, looking for toadstools and fallen acorns, or trudging through snowdrifts.

I'm a homemaker and artist, fortunate to be married to my best friend in the whole world. We have two cheerful Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Kiki and Boston, who bring us laughter all year round. Kiki is the inspiration for this shop's name and logo.

Kiki La Ru Cake Buntings are made in our clean, sweet-smelling country home while thinking positive thoughts and daydreaming.

We are a mom and daughter shop which we named after our nicknames for each other...Mom (Carmen or "Country Mouse") and Jamie (daughter or "City Chic"). We gave each other these names based on where we live and our quirky characteristics due to our geographical locations. For example, City Chic must always drive when Country Mouse visits her in the city (traffic can be scary for a Country Mouse!). We make each other laugh frequently because of our differences :)

From the sewing/craft studio to the laundry and kitchen we enjoy bringing style to these everyday tasks.
